Medicare Alert: Beware of Scam Messages

Mar 24, 2026 | News

We want to make our clients aware of a growing number of scam emails and text messages being sent to Medicare beneficiaries. Recently, several of our clients have received messages claiming there are changes to their Medicare file or urging them to “confirm your information today” to avoid potential increases. These communications often appear official, but they are not from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or Medicare.

Many of these messages include a link asking you to verify personal details such as your date of birth, ZIP code, or other sensitive information. After answering a few questions, you may then be connected to a sales agent. Unfortunately, providing this information can lead to unauthorized plan changes or misuse of your personal data. Please do not click on these links or provide personal information in response to these messages.

Through March 31, Medicare beneficiaries are currently in the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period. During this time, agents are not permitted to actively market to beneficiaries, although some individuals unfortunately do not follow these guidelines. If you are considering making a change to your Medicare Advantage plan, we encourage you to contact our office or your trusted agent directly so we can guide you through the process safely.

We truly appreciate the clients who have already reached out to us to review suspicious communications. If you receive a message that seems questionable, please save it and send it to us for review. Protecting our clients and ensuring you have accurate information is always our top priority.
